On March 8-9, Iuliia Papushina, Associate Professor of the School of Management, took part in the interdisciplinary conference “The Body of Things: Gender, Material Culture and Design in (Post)Soviet Russia” which was organized by the University of Aarhus.
On March 6, Natalya Yakusheva, professor of the University of Helsinki, Helsinki Institute of Sustainability, presented her paper “Sustainability research at the University of Helsinki: what is on the agenda? Perspectives from political scientist.”
On February 23, Anna Bykova, Research Fellow of the International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy (ID Lab), presented joint research with Dennis Coates, on “Economic freedom and its influence on the performance of Russian companies”. The paper was presented at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, US.
Research fellows from HSE-Perm’s International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy (ID Lab) Anna Bykova and Carlos Jardon found out that in order to get maximum use from foreign partners, Russian companies need to invest in intellectual resources.
Anna Ostapenko, a representative of the HSE Green club and 2nd year student in History, has recently returned from Belgium where she took part in the Model European Parliament for Western Europe (held in Lier) and an environmental seminar (in Berlaar) from January 25 to February 3. The research paper competition was held in 21 subjects, including Arts and Design, an area that was just introduced this year. For the first time ever, international students are among the competition’s winners.

From 29 November to 1 December Amedeo Napoli, head of the Orpailleur research group, Laboratory of Lorraine, gave a number of lectures on description logic for students of “Business-informatics” and “Software engineering” educational programmes.
HSE-Perm and the University of Padova have been cooperating for the last five years. The cooperation started in the sphere of research within the HSE-Perm’s Centre for Private-Public Interactions.
