The new ranking of entrepreneurial universities published for the first time by the ‘Expert’ analytical centre features 38 Russian universities, 16 of which are participants in the Project 5-100. HSE took 6th place among Russian universities and 2nd place (after MIPT) among participants in the Project 5-100.

The Golden HSE is HSE’s main prize. HSE staff members nominate candidates, so the award provides the perfect opportunity to express our gratitude to colleagues and show appreciation for their work. On September 19-22, Dean Fantazzini, Associate Professor, Deputy Head of Moscow School of Economics, Moscow State University’s Chair of Econometrics and Mathematical Methods in Economics, visited HSE Perm. This visit was organized by Agata Lozinskaia, Associate Professor of the School of Economics and Finance, and was aimed at developing research cooperation and enriching educational programmes.

On September 20-21, the Perm campus of the Higher School of Economics hosted the sixth International Conference on Applied Research in Economics (iCare6), an event that focuses on research with applications to and implications for real-life problems. The conference acronym reflects its motto: iCare = I care.

At the invitation of the School of Foreign Languages, Australian teacher trainer James Thomas visited HSE Perm as part of the ‘Teaching Excellence Initiative’ programme. On September 28, the professor conducted a seminar on ‘Teaching L2 Writing’ for the School’s faculty.

Last week Australian teacher trainer James Thomas visited HSE Perm at the invitation of Elizaveta Smirnova, Associate Professor of the School of Foreign Languages. From 24 to 27 September, James conducted a refresher training course on “English as a Medium of Instruction” for the HSE Perm faculty.

September 21 to 27, I-Ching Lee, professor of National Taiwan University, visited HSE-Perm at the invitation of the School of Management.

On September 27, Sheila Fitzpatrick, Professor of Chicago University, delivered a lecture at HSE-Perm on everyday life in the time of Stalin, and on the features of a historian’s work. She talked about the purpose of her visit to Perm and shared her impressions of her interaction with the audience.
