HSE Outranks Russian Universities in 10 QS Subject Rankings
This year, HSE University has entered four additional QS World University Rankings by Subject, thereby bringing its grand total of represented broad and specific subject areas to 23. HSE ranks in 19 of the 38 subject rankings that include Russian universities, as well as in four of the ranking’s five broad subject areas. HSE is among the world’s top 100 universities in five subjects, including History and Social Policy & Administration, where it has entered the rankings for the first time.

For the first time HSE University has placed among the top twenty universities in countries with emerging economies in the THE Emerging Economies Rankings. Ranking 18th, HSE now places among the top three Russian universities on the list. Earlier this year, HSE University was the third highest ranking Russian university in the THE World University Rankings.

HSE University Enters Top-5 of Best Russian Universities in National Survey
According to a national survey conducted by VCIOM, HSE University ranks fifth in the ‘People’s Ranking of Russian Universities’. A total of 1,600 Russians aged over 18 participated in the survey, which was carried out through phone interviews, relying on a random sample of landline and mobile numbers.

At the close of 2019, HSE University once again ranked first among Russian organizations in the RePEc/IDEAS (Research Papers in Economics) world ranking and advanced to a record-breaking 129th place. HSE-Perm’s Student Team Ranks Top-50 in Northern Eurasia Programming Contest
The Northern Eurasia Programming Contest is one of the semifinals of the ICPC student World Championship. More than 300 of the best teams from Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Estonia took part in the event. Students from the Perm campus of HSE University came in 46th and were second-class award winners.

‘Imposter Syndrome’: How Perfectionism Leads to Procrastination
HSE-Perm’s research group consisting of Tatyana Permyakova, Full Professor of the School of Foreign Languages, and Marina Sheveleva, Associate Professor of the School of Foreign Languages, together with American researcher Dr. Kenneth Wang, has been investigating the dangers of ‘imposter syndrome’ for university students.
