Within the framework of the IX International Conference on Applied Research in Economics (iCare), topical issues of behavioral economics, finance, banking, labor and education economics, and environmental economics were discussed. The conference was held online and brought together researchers from Russia, India, USA, Germany and other countries. We summarize and publish the recordings of the reports.

Social isolation and limited interaction with other people during the COVID-19 pandemic have had adverse impact on the mental and physical health of Russian students. These are the findings of a survey conducted by HSE University and the Centre of Cross-Cultural Psychology and Ethology of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

From July 15^th to 17^th 2019, Aleksey Kychkin, Associate Professor of the HSE-Perm’s Department of Information Technologies in Business, and Elvira Neganova, Master’s student of Information Analytics in Enterprise Management, took part in the 21st IEEE Conference on Business Informatics (CBI).

Kseniya Baydina, 3rd-year student of the bachelor’s programme in Management, presented her report ‘Uncertainty of Outcome and Attendance: Evidence from Russian Football’ at the 20th Conference of the German Association of Sport Economics and Sport Management, held at the University of Tuebingen.

Evgeniy Ozhegov, Senior Lecturer of department of Economics and Finance, junior research fellow of the Group for Applied Markets and Enterprises Studies (GAMES), NRU HSE-Perm, told us what inspires him for new research, about the trends in econometrics and also shared his opinion, should scientific projects be applied or not. We publish the second part of Evgeniy’s interview for Perm branch site.

Evgeniy Ozhegov, Senior Lecturer of department of Economics and Finance, junior research fellow of the Group for Applied Markets and Enterprises Studies (GAMES), NRU HSE-Perm, is one of those pushing the science forward. Evgeniy is included in candidate pool of NRU HSE, recently he defended candidate thesis in economics. He teaches courses on econometrics and microeconometrics, game theory, consumers’ behavior theory for the students of Perm campus of NRU HSE, teaches to write graduation thesis. Besides, Evgeniy runs the students’ econometrics club, organizes the work of GAMES seminars and takes part in development of many scientific and applied studies.

How is teaching combined with research activities? Should studies be applied? And what does inspire a scientist? Evgeniy told about this and about many other things in his interview to HSE-Perm site.

At the XVII international scientific April conference at NRU HSE (Moscow) the delegation of Perm campus spoke at 14 sessions. Speakers from the school of management, school of economics and finance, the group for state-private interaction studies, International laboratory of intangible-driven economy and Group for applied markets and enterprises studies took part in the conference.
