Bachelor’s Programme 'Economics'

This programme prepares highly-qualified researchers and analysts, who are prepared to work in financial and IT firms, as well as companies operating in the real sectors of the economy. First and second year students acquire fundamental knowledge of economics and finance, gain a deep understanding of statistics, mathematics and modeling of social and economic processes, while also perfecting their project skills. The curriculum of senior courses includes a wide range of applied disciplines. 

The programme’s vast array of options allows students to shape their own career trajectories. For instance, involving students in the projects of HSE research laboratories’ enables them to continue their education in prestigious graduate programmes and pursue academic careers. The range of applied specializations and involvement in applicable business, finance gives students the chance to apply their accumulated analytical abilities in a chosen industry.

HSE University Expands Number of Subjects in the Shanghai Ranking

HSE University has retained its position in the Top 100 of the Academic Ranking of World Universities, otherwise known as the Shanghai Ranking, in sociology and mathematics. The university improved in political science and has also placed in the same group in economics. At the same time, HSE moved to the next group in management and entered new subject areas – psychology and business administration. HSE is the only Russian university ranked in four subjects: Sociology, Management, Business Administration, and Political Science. HSE University is Russia’s leader in economics and ranks in the same group as Moscow State University in mathematics.
