From December 10-12, 2013, Elena Paltseva, Professor at the Stockholm School of Economics, read a lecture course on the theory of oligopoly, as part of the course on Microeconomics at the HSE - Perm.
Yegor Gaidar Fellowship Program Launched
In late October, the HSE-Perm Faculty of Economics hosted a visitor from Moscow – Carol Sorrenti, the Country Director of IREX' s Russia office. She told HSE-Perm graduates in detail about The Yegor Gaidar Fellowship Program in Economics as well as the requirements for participating in the Program.
Intellectual Capital
The 9th interdisciplinary workshop on intangibles, intellectual capital and extra-financial information was held at the Copenhagen Business School at the end of September. It was organized by EIASM (the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management). Mariya Molodchik, Associate Professor of the Laboratory of Interdisciplinary Empirical Studies HSE Perm told about the event.

Sberbank Opens a Training Department at HSE-Perm
At a working meeting of Western-Urals bank of Sberbank Russia, and HSE-Perm, Sberbank Chairman Kirill Brel and the Director of HSE-Perm’s campus, Galina Volodina launched a new Sberbank Russia department at HSE-Perm to train new staff reserves for mass and non-mass jobs required by the bank.
Urban Projects: From Ideas to Implementation
This summer, the HSE Perm Faculty of Management organized its first international summer schoolon urban projects. The summer school 'Urban Projects: From Ideas to Implementation' focused on designing a campus park. Irina Shafranskaya, Deputy Dean of the HSE Perm Faculty of Management, shared her impressions of the summer school.
HSE Experts Presented a Paper in Paris
In early July 2013, a joint academic conference of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), The University of Oxford, and the British Open University, took place in France. The conference was dedicated to the problems of welfare economics and was held in the OECD headquarters in Paris. Several HSE experts took part in the event.
Professor Bera Presents Lectures
On June 3-7, 2013, the HSE-Perm hosted a visit by the well-known econometrician Anil K. Bera, Professor of Economics at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is most noted for his work with Carlos Jarque on the Jarque–Bera test

The International Conference on Applied Economics in Perm HSE in September
Last year the HSE-Perm established a new Scientific Research Laboratory for Industrial Organization Empirical Analysis. Grigory Kosenok, Full Professor of the New Economic School and Research Manager of the Laboratory, talks about the laboratory and the International Conference on Applied Economics which will be held in Perm HSE on September 18-20, 2013 where international specialists to be keynote speakers at the Conference have been invited.
