Vitaliy Mingalev, Senior Lecturer at the Sociology and Humanities Faculty of the HSE campus in Perm, has taught for almost 20 years in various higher educational establishments in town, as well as at schools, lyceums and continuing education centres. Nevertheless, the total shift to online education has been a new teaching experience for him. He shared his thoughts about the new format with the portal’s news service.

How HSE Is Transitioning to Distance Learning and Helping Others Do the Same
Conducting online lectures and research seminars on Zoom, providing assistance and useful instructions to the university community—all this is necessary for a smooth transition to remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past two weeks, various HSE departments have done all of this in order to provide their students with online instruction. The IT Office particularly felt the weight of this large task. HSE-Perm’s Student Team Ranks Top-50 in Northern Eurasia Programming Contest
The Northern Eurasia Programming Contest is one of the semifinals of the ICPC student World Championship. More than 300 of the best teams from Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Estonia took part in the event. Students from the Perm campus of HSE University came in 46th and were second-class award winners.

Alina Kryuchkova: Five Tips on Studying Abroad
Alina Kryuchkova, a third-year student in economics at HSE, spent her spring semester at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management (ZSEM). So far there has not been one student who has studied abroad and remained unchanged by the experience. Alina spoke with HSE News Service about what it was like to study in Croatia, and she gave some advice to those who are interested in studying abroad through an HSE mobility programme.
