Summer School “Culture of Totalitarian Society and Memory Studies Cases” Starts at HSE-Perm
On August 20, 2019, an international Summer School on studying the culture of totalitarian society and memory studies cases started at HSE-Perm. It will continue until August 31.

Perm Term: Durham University Students Share Their Impressions
During four months, students of the University of Durham (UK) studied Russian and history at the Higher School of Economics in Perm as part of 'Perm Term' programme (a semester in Perm). This programme was first organized by HSE in 2019 in cooperation with the School of Modern Languages and Cultures of the University of Durham. The semester came to an end, and students Phoebe, Athena, Madeleine and Eleanor shared their impressions of this experience.

‘Nitra is the City of St. Cyril and Methodius’: A Lecture by Professor Ján Zozuľak
On June 6, Ján Zozuľak, professor from the Konstantin the Philosopher University in Nitra, Slovakia, visited HSE-Perm. The professor delivered a short lecture on the history of his city. Next year students in history from HSE-Perm will be able to go to Nitra on an exchange through the Erasmus+ programme.

Exchange Students from Europe and Asia at HSE Perm: First Impressions
In 2019 HSE Perm launched two international mobility programmes for hosting students from foreign universities. Exchange students from Tajikistan and the UK will spend the spring semester in Perm.

HSE Continues its Ascent in QS World University Rankings by Subject
The latest results of the QS World University Rankings by Subject demonstrate that Russian universities are continuing to make great strides in international rankings. Among the Russian universities that made the rankings, HSE tops the list with 16 specific subjects and 3 broad subject areas entering the rankings. Compared to last year, HSE has improved its performance in almost all subjects.
Academic Council Approves Tuition Fees for HSE Perm Programmes in 2019
The HSE Academic Council has approved tuition fees for undergraduate and graduate programmes for incoming students in 2019.

Golden HSE 2018 Winners Announced
The winners are 16 staff members in seven ‘golden’ categories and 21 students in the ‘Silver Nestling’ category. The winners of the ‘Golden Citation’, which is awarded to the most cited HSE scholar, have also been announced. The awards ceremony was held on November 27, on the HSE's birthday.

Sheila Fitzpatrick: ‘There Are Very Good Historians Here – One Can Learn a Lot from Them’
On September 27, Sheila Fitzpatrick, Professor of Chicago University, delivered a lecture at HSE-Perm on everyday life in the time of Stalin, and on the features of a historian’s work. She talked about the purpose of her visit to Perm and shared her impressions of her interaction with the audience.

Belgium Leads by Example: HSE Green Club
Anna Ostapenko, a representative of the HSE Green club and 2nd year student in History, has recently returned from Belgium where she took part in the Model European Parliament for Western Europe (held in Lier) and an environmental seminar (in Berlaar) from January 25 to February 3. She was accompanied by a group of Russian students.

Archaeological Internship with Oxford Students Underway
Second-year students on the History BA programme at HSE Perm have gone on an archaeological expedition as part of their internship. This year, HSE students have joined geology students from Oxford University on an excavation at Mokinski burial grounds.
