The advantages of the programme
World class education
HSE uses the best world experience in higher education when preparing students. Since 2017, the Higher School of Economics has been included in the QS - World University Ranking's by Subject, having taken a place in the 51-100 group in the History section in 2022.
Diploma of the leading Russian university
All graduates of the Higher School of Economics, regardless of which campus they studied on, receive a single standard HSE diploma. In addition, bachelors receive a European Diploma Supplement containing information about the education received, all final grades on a 10-point scale, and the translation of final grades into the ECTS scale in force in Europe. The document is drawn up in two languages — English and Russian and allows to continue education or work in the countries participating in the Bologna Process (48 countries) without a legal translation of the diploma.
Competences of the "second" profession
In addition to studying professional disciplines within the framework of the programme, students have the opportunity to master the "second" specialty. Minor is a combination of four disciplines that are not related to the main area of training. It allows students to gain basic knowledge in other subject areas (IT, finance, management, language and communications).
Modern material and technical base
The university has excellent material and technical conditions for the training of specialists: spacious classrooms are fitted up with the modern equipment with the necessary software. During the learning process, multimedia technologies are widely used, for example, exclusive online lecture courses by leading foreign scientists.
In-depth study of the English language and academic mobility
Studying English lasts 3 years. At the end of the 2nd year, students take an independent exam in English according to international standards. Thanks to this, they can continue their studies at foreign universities and work in the world's largest companies.
Students from Perm have the opportunity to study free of charge at other HSE campuses: in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Duration — from one and a half months to a year. At the same time, students are provided with places in the dormitory for the period of residence in another city.
All students are involved in project and practical activities. As a result, graduates have a voluminous portfolio, which includes historical DH projects: developed websites, 3D models, virtual tours, museumification projects, databases, etc.
Many classes take place outside the classroom, which provides an opportunity to get acquainted with leading scientific laboratories, museum projects, archives, archaeological fieldwork, etc.
Students take part in research events: symposiums, scientific educational schools and conferences. When entering the master's programme, graduates note that academic activity in the bachelor's programme has become a powerful start for their further educational and scientific career.
In addition, students of the programme are actively involved in extracurricular life and attend various clubs and sections of interest: student theater, dance groups, science clubs (oriental club, ArcheoVyshka), board games club, tourist club, tea club.
Graduates are fluent in English, understand IT-technologies, have skills in project activities, mathematical modeling of social processes, have experience in expert and research activities and creative solutions to professional problems.
