HSE Outranks Russian Universities in 10 QS Subject Rankings
HSE University has made the 2020 QS World University Rankings by Subject in 23 broad and specific subject areas, which is four more than last year. HSE now ranks in 19 of the 38 subject rankings in which Russian universities are represented, as well as in four out of five broad subject areas. HSE has entered the list of the world’s top 100 universities in five subjects, including History and Social Policy & Administration, where it has ranked for the first time.

‘Every Student Should Be Prepared for Life in the Digital World and Know How to Speak Its Language’
On January 16, HSE Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov spoke at the expert panel, ‘Digital Revolution in Education and New Training Technologies’, at the 2020 Gaidar Forum, ‘Russia and the World: Challenges of the New Decade’, which was held at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).

HSE Places Second Among Russian Universities in THE Humanities Ranking
HSE University improved its performance from last year, entering the Top-200 of the Times Higher Education (THE) subject ranking in Arts and Humanities. We now place second among Russian universities and have the best results of the participants of the Russian Academic Excellence Project 5-100.
Summer School “Culture of Totalitarian Society and Memory Studies Cases” Starts at HSE-Perm
On August 20, 2019, an international Summer School on studying the culture of totalitarian society and memory studies cases started at HSE-Perm. It will continue until August 31.

Perm Term: Durham University Students Share Their Impressions
During four months, students of the University of Durham (UK) studied Russian and history at the Higher School of Economics in Perm as part of 'Perm Term' programme (a semester in Perm). This programme was first organized by HSE in 2019 in cooperation with the School of Modern Languages and Cultures of the University of Durham. The semester came to an end, and students Phoebe, Athena, Madeleine and Eleanor shared their impressions of this experience.

‘Nitra is the City of St. Cyril and Methodius’: A Lecture by Professor Ján Zozuľak
On June 6, Ján Zozuľak, professor from the Konstantin the Philosopher University in Nitra, Slovakia, visited HSE-Perm. The professor delivered a short lecture on the history of his city. Next year students in history from HSE-Perm will be able to go to Nitra on an exchange through the Erasmus+ programme.

Exchange Students from Europe and Asia at HSE Perm: First Impressions
In 2019 HSE Perm launched two international mobility programmes for hosting students from foreign universities. Exchange students from Tajikistan and the UK will spend the spring semester in Perm.

HSE Continues its Ascent in QS World University Rankings by Subject
The latest results of the QS World University Rankings by Subject demonstrate that Russian universities are continuing to make great strides in international rankings. Among the Russian universities that made the rankings, HSE tops the list with 16 specific subjects and 3 broad subject areas entering the rankings. Compared to last year, HSE has improved its performance in almost all subjects.

Dinara Gagarina at First Conference of European Association for Digital Humanities
From 7th to 9th December 2018, the first conference of EADH, the European Association for Digital Humanities, was held in Ireland. One of the participants was Dinara Gagarina, head of the HSE-Perm’s Department of Humanities. Dinara shared her impressions of the event.
