Why HSE?
HSE is one of Russia's largest universities that offers a wide array of Bachelor's and Master's programmes. HSE university traditionally attracts students both from former Soviet republics and other countries. In 2019, Perm campus welcomed students from Morocco, Syria, and Ghana for the first time.
Despite the fact that the university has the word “economics” in its name, HSE is a full-fledged multidisciplinary university with programmes in software engineering, history, law, museum and event management, and much more. At the Higher School of Economics in Perm, you can study not only in Russian but in English as well. Many programmes are English-taught, and many more are in the process of being developed.
In addition, numerous international agreements allow HSE students to participate in exchange programmes at top universities around the world.
HSE has modern infrastructure and comfortable studying conditions. Most of the HSE buildings in Perm are within walking distance from one another.
How do I choose a programme?

How can I apply for a Bachelor's programme?
Applicants can apply in one of two ways:
1. Compete in the Global Scholarship Competition. The Olympiad for applicants in 2020 ended in October 2019, and the results will appear in mid-December 2019, but now you can choose the programme and HSE campus where you would like to study.
2. Successfully pass entrance examinations (applicants must pass at least two exams in person or remotely). Please note that you can apply for no more than two programmes. You can choose programmes at any of the 4 campuses of the Higher School of Economics: Moscow, Perm, St. Petersburg, or Nizhny Novgorod.
To apply, you must register and create a personal account. In your account, you can pick the programmes of interest and choose a convenient option for taking the entrance examinations.
How do I apply for a Master's programme?
At the moment, one option for applicants is participating in the portfolio contest.
To apply you must create a personal account, select your programmes of interest, and upload your portfolio. Please note that you may apply to no more than two programmes. You may choose programmes in any of the 4 campuses of the Higher School of Economics: Moscow, Perm, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod.
How can I receive financial support?
Some international students study at the HSE with scholarships that cover 25% to up to 100% of tuition costs.

The size of a student's scholarship amount depends on the following factors: his or her performance in the Olympiads, his or her exam scores, or his or her portfolio assessment. Scholarships are awarded for the entire period of study, provided that foreign citizens meet academic performance requirements.
Where will I live?
HSE provides housing in campus dormitories for all international students. HSE Perm has 2 modern dormitories equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay, including Wi-Fi. The cost of living does not exceed 600 rubles per month.

We began our international student admissions campaign on November 1, and the first applications are already being received. Every year the number of students from abroad increases at HSE Perm. Geography is growing from year to year, and we have set ambitious goals for 2020/2021 recruitment. The HSE Perm campus takes a comprehensive approach to attracting foreign applicants; educational products are being developed that will be of interest not only to our Russian-speaking audience, but also to our English-speaking, international audience. The choice of programmes on the Perm campus is growing every year. Next year we will be offering a new Master's programme 'Digital Methods in the Humanities'. The staff of the International Office is always happy to help foreign applicants with choosing a programme and preparing for admissions.
