Svetlana Strinyuk at International Conference in Italy
Svetlana Strinyuk, Associate Professor at School of Foreign Languages at HSE Perm, took part in the Corpora and Discourse International Conference held in Siena, Italy.
The event was organized by the University of Siena and SiBol Corpus Linguistics group and dedicated to the application of corpus linguistics methods to discourse research.
Svetlana Strinyuk presented her report ‘Life Inside a Database: Corpus-Informed Research of Identity’ at the seminar dedicated to the centenary commemoration of the Easter Rising in Ireland, the seminar focused on using the Hansard corpus (corpus of the British Parliament) to represent Ireland in the British political discourse.
Strinyuk also presented a report on ‘The Legitimation of the Conflict: Discourse Analysis of The Troubles Novels and The Irish Times Texts of the End of the XX Century’ at the session on modern period studies.
