‘Winnie-the-Pooh and All, All, All’. Poster Exhibition of Graduates of HSE Art and Design School
Until March 15, the exhibition ‘Winnie-the-Pooh and All, All, All’ will be held in the Children's and Youth Department of the Central City Youth Library named after M.A. Svetlov. Graduates of the continuing education programme ‘Illustration. Basic Course’ decided to take a fresh look at A. A. Milne's beloved fairy tale by drawing incredibly colourful posters.
Children often learn about Winnie-the-Pooh from cartoons, but reading the book can be even more interesting. The idea of the posters is to interest young readers in bright and eye-catching images with quotes from the book and encourage them to read.
Anna-Maria Lon, Irina Kolmykova, and Alice Okulovskaya present their works at the exhibition. Maria Borodina is the exhibition curator.
Lecturer at HSE Art and Design School
‘The practice of working with a real customer is very important for continuing education courses, even for short ones. We have established excellent relations with several libraries, and in particular with the library named after M.A. Svetlov. This is not the first time we have exhibited works based on literary works there. The previous exhibition was devoted to the interpretation of Pushkin's fairy tales and plays.
In 2023, at our request, the library staff selected ten literary works that they would like to present to young visitors to arouse their interest in reading. The students completed a series of works on The Master and Margarita, Anna Karenina, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, Alice in Wonderland, and Winnie-the-Pooh. The first group of works is now on display in the children's department of the library. In their works, Anna-Maria and Irina show the most fascinating moments from the book, which they remember themselves and which they advise children to read, while Alisa’s works invite us into a fabulous world of mathematical paradox and magical characters.’
The works are exhibited at 24 Bolshoy Tishinsky Pereulok, building 1. Entry is free.
