As part of his working trip to Perm, HSE University Rector Nikita Anisimov visited the site where the new campus is being built, and also held talks with the Governor of Perm Krai, Dmitry Makhonin. The student campus is expected to be fully operational in 2026. The campus will house learning spaces, laboratories, a sports complex with a swimming pool, a congress hall, and a hotel complex for students and teachers.

The creation of world-class university campuses is part of the Science and Universities national project. Perm Krai became one of the nine regions to win in the second selection wave in 2022. The campus will be interuniversity in nature; eight universities in the region, including HSE University, are participating in the project. Ekaterina Zagorodnova, Deputy Director of HSE University in Perm, is part of the working group on campus development.

The student campus in Perm Krai is expected to be fully operational in 2026. It will be located in the right-bank part of the city and will occupy an area of more than 20 hectares. The campus will house educational and laboratory spaces, a modern technology park, a sports and fitness centre with a swimming pool, a congress hall, and residential areas with a hotel complex for students and teachers with more than 5,000 beds. The total area of construction facilities will be 160,000 square meters.

During the rector’s visit, the administrative heads of HSE University told him about the implementation of the project, as well as the key areas of development for HSE University in Perm. The rector also visited the future campus site and discussed collaboration with the Governor of Perm Krai, Dmitry Makhonin. During the meeting, Nikita Anisimov emphasised the strong dynamics of the city’s development in general and the preparations for its 300th anniversary in particular. In 2023, HSE University in Perm will also celebrate an anniversary, having welcomed its first students 25 years ago.

The project to create a world-class campus is being implemented at a rapid pace. In early March, the region's authorities entered into a concession agreement for the construction and operation of the campus, and design specifications are already being formed. According to Dmitry Makhonin, it is planned to introduce facilities in stages. The construction of a hotel complex is the first priority, followed by a sports and recreation centre with a swimming pool, a congress hall, and educational and laboratory spaces. Plans for the near future include a meeting with industrial partners and universities, where the participants will discuss the campus philosophy and work out a basic concept for the development of a new place of attraction for students, the scientific community, and enterprises.
