HSE-Perm and University of Padova: Cooperation Continues

HSE-Perm and the University of Padova have been cooperating for the last five years. The cooperation started in the sphere of research within the HSE-Perm’s Centre for Private-Public Interactions.

Today an agreement on cooperation between the universities is being prepared for signing. Within the framework of the agreement exchange of students and visits of lecturers will take place.

Last week Elena Shadrina, Associate Professor of the School of management, read a number of lectures for students of the Universiy of Padova as a visiting professor. Master students of Business Administration programme have listened to the lectures on Sustainable Procurement.

During the discussions, individual and group work global problems which bar the planet development were considered. Students revealed a number of problems of their countries. They also learned how public and business procurement may contribute to sustainable development of the society and to solution of global problems.

Fifty students from ten countries – it is a good experience of working with international audience. I am happy to note the high level of students’ attainment. These lectures were integrated in the course “Industrial Organization”. The main purpose of my lectures is to form an understanding of the role of procurement for business and the role of public procurement as a tool for solving social and environmental problems and reaching the sustainable development.

It was also important to explain how to integrate the elements of sustainability in the process of procurement. The topic of sustainable procurement was new for students. I saw that they were very attentive, they wrote down a lot, they asked questions, so I can say that it was interesting and useful for them.

Colleagues from the University of Padova are interested in active collaboration, they are ready to come and to work with our students, and they are waiting for HSE-Perm lecturers in their university.
