Ekaterina Oparina, Research Assistant at the Centre for Private-Public Interactions at HSE Perm took part in the 15th session of the Institutional and Organizational Economics Academy, held in in Cargèse (France).

HSE Perm Scholar Takes Part in IOEA Session in France

The session included lectures on applied and theoretical topics related to analyzing the economics of governance, institutions and organizations, as well as workshops on research issues and methodology. During the workshops researchers had an opportunity to present their projects and to discuss them with their colleagues. Participants had an opportunity for their work to be discussed by recognized scholars in the field, including Paul Seabright (Toulouse School of Economics), Roberta Romano (Yale University), Jose Luis Guasch (University of California at San Diego), and many others.

Ekaterina Oparina presented her report ‘Preferential treatment for SMEs: The effect of Set-asides in Russian public procurement’. She noted that, after the presentation, she not only received some valuable advice and commentary from experts, but also managed to establish professional contacts.
