Eight students of HSE Perm graduated from ‘Business Strategies in a Global Environment’ – a joint master’s programme run by HSE and the University of Essex. Students of the programmes in Marketing, State and Local Administration and ‘Project Management: Project Analysis, Investments, and Technologies of Implementation’ studied for the first year in Perm and spent the second year in England. In September 2014 they defended their theses and in December they were awarded diplomas. Notably, all the works were graded as either ‘good’ or ‘excellent’.
Maxim Silin, Research Assistant of the Division of Public-Private Partnership Studies and programme graduate shared his impressions:
‘The course was really inspiring. I would specifically mention ‘Theory and practice of entrepreneurship’, which was very motivating, and, it seems to me, more useful than an MBA. Each MBA programme analyzes general business cases of already successful companies. At the University of Essex we learned how to turn a start-up into a profitable business. For example, we learned how to start your business with a single small shop and develop the project into a supermarket chain. These six months of impressions and tasting the English lifestyle will always remain in my heart. I’m really happy that HSE helped me to enjoy such a rewarding experience’.
Graduates of the joint programme were awarded a double degree by HSE and the University of Essex.
