Students and Graduates Invited to Faculty Meetings on HSE Day

HSE Day’s Reunion initiative offers students and graduates the opportunity to meet informally with the Dean and teachers of their faculties, ask senior students about their studies or remember their time as a student and share their wisdom with the younger generation.

10 tents – the number of faculties at the university – will offer a forum for interaction between students, graduates and teachers.

This forum is something akin to a traditional ‘field trip’ with camp-fires and guitar strumming – even the same tents have been chosen, albeit kitted out a little differently.

Each faculty has something different to offer.

Representatives of the Faculty of Computer Science will talk in detail about their faculty development plans and educational programmes, international competitions students can take part in, Yandex’s academic programmes, work experience and internships.

The Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics offers intellectual duels in which participants must demonstrate their logic, maths knowledge and abstract thinking ability. And it involves a trip to the Gorky Park Observatory.

The Faculty of Mathematics prepared a lecture on Lobachevsky and problem solving for mathematicians and mathematical physicists, and consultations, mathematical games and competitions for potential applicants.

The Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs is holding an oriental studies lottery and calligraphy masterclasses, the Faculty of Business and Management is focusing on the current and future of logistics, the Faculty of Social Sciences offers a warm welcome for students, teachers, graduates, and employers, and the Faculty of Economic Sciences includes company stands from Deloitte, E&Y, PwC, KPMG, and Inter RAO ES, and will also offer master classes on career success strategies (Pavel Mokrushin, on Strategies and Secrets of Growth for Young Entrepreneurs, and Polina Beloborodova, on Personal Brand – Your history for employers) and interviews with faculty alumni.

Student organizations including the Faculty of Economic Sciences Student Union, KeyStone, ICEF OutReach, will outline their activities. The Faculty of Humanities will offer three popular science talks – Contemporary Music and Daily Life (Artem Rondarev, School of Cultural Studies), Digital Humanities (Anastasia Bonch-Osmolovskaya, School of Linguistics) and Rights to Myths – Science and Poetry in the West in the C12th (Oleg Voskoboinikov, School of History).

The Faculty of Law will host several competitions – Law Illustrated, Legal Fashion 2015, and even Sew Case.

The Faculty of Communications, Media and Design is hosting speed-dating sessions for graduates, students and teachers – offering the chance to outline various educational programmes and help them find partners for various joint projects. Games, visual installations and a lecture on ‘Digital Literacy in Russia’ will also take place. With tea and biscuits.
