Elizaveta Smirnova Spoke at International Conference in Valencia

The 1st International Conference on Corpus Analysis in Academic Discourse took place on 22-24 November in Valencia (Spain). HSE-Perm was represented by Elizaveta Smirnova, Associate Professor of the School of Foreign Languages.

Elizaveta presented her paper “Relational and referential coherence of academic texts: a corpus analysis of Russian students' research papers in management”. The paper aroused the audience’s interest both in the context of corpus linguistics and from the perspective of practice of teaching for academic purposes.

Moreover, Elizaveta Smirnova herself noted that research interests of other speakers were very close to the topic which is being studied by the Research and Training Group “Software Development for Corpus Research in English Studies”. In her opinion, this fact confirms the timeliness of the selected topic.
