Ekaterina Zagorodnova Spoke at International Conference in London
24th International Conference on Teaching, Education and Learning (ICTEL) took place at the Imperial College London on 12-13 September. HSE-Perm was represented by Ekaterina Zagorodnova, Dean of the Part-Time Education Faculty of Economics and Management, Associate Professor of the School of Management.
The purpose of the conference is to promote communication between teachers and to exchange with ideas, experience and research findings in education.
Ekaterina Zagorodnova presented her paper “Determinants of Academic Achievements in Continuing Education”. Her co-author is Elena Shakina, Associate Professor of the School of Management, HSE-St. Petersburg. In their paper the researchers discovered the factors which influence academic performance of adult students going into the second higher education. Such factors as high academic performance during the first higher education and paying for education from personal income have positive influence on academic performance of adults. Lively discussion was caused by the fact that students with monthly income more than 40 thousand rubles have better academic performance.
Foreign colleagues highly appreciated Ekaterina’s presentation. After the conference the authors will prepare an article for publication in an international peer-reviewed journal.
