Orientation Session for International Students Held at HSE Perm
International freshmen at the HSE campus in Perm have taken part in an orientation session, where they met the leaders of the educational programmes and learned about the specific features of studying at the Higher School of Economics.
The Orientation Session started with an opening speech by Dmitry Kashin, who welcomed the international students. HSE Perm enrolled a total of 12 international undergraduate freshmen this year, from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Moldova, and Transnistria. Ten will study for free thanks to Russian government scholarships, and two are taking up fee-paying slots. One more international student, from China, has been enrolled in an MA programme.
The session was dedicated to some important organizational issues. Anna Shtennikova, head of the Faculty and Students Support Office, spoke about migration registration for foreign citizens and about other issues related to international student support such as medical insurance. The students met the heads of educational programmes. Participants of the session also included Dmitry GergertDmitry Artemyev
The study process and extracurricular activities received particular attention during the session. The students were given information about different types of classes, lectures and seminars, about the 10-grade scale, the ranking system, and LMS. Vitaliy Mingalev
