Irina Romodina Took Part in 8th International Conference on Applied Economics
Irina Romodina, Research Assistant at the Division of Public-Private Partnership Studies at HSE Perm took part in the 8th International Conference on Applied Economics – Contemporary Issues in Economy ‘Market or Government?’ The event was held in Torun, Poland.
During the conference ten international sessions on management, globalization and international trade, tax policy and finance, regional development issues and public sector economics were held. Over 100 participants from 23 countries of the world presented their reports.
Irina Romodina presented the research dedicated to sustainable public procurement – a joint project with Maxim Silin.
Sustainable procurement helps to implement the principles of sustainable development, which implies economic efficiency, social and environmental responsibility. Thus, sustainable procurement is a mechanism for establishing a sustainable economy.
‘During the conference the report on green economy and the role of the government in its establishment was presented. The participants also analysed the practice of European countries in building green economy at post-crisis period. This theme is topical today. We are planning to conduct a new study on sustainable public procurement in Russia, using a different methodology,’ — said Irina Romodina.
