The Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Empirical Studies (LINES) was established in September 2013 to replace the Laboratory for Investment Analysis.
The basic idea of LINES is to create a single unit for research performed at the HSE-Perm, while promoting interdisciplinarity and maintaining project synergy.
In addition to merging current projects, the Laboratory serves as a research incubator that recruits research assistants and research fellows for new research projects at the Perm campus. This makes it possible to attract experienced researchers to work on ongoing projects as laboratory research fellows and also students as laboratory research assistants, solidifying the mutual obligations of the staff and the university.
A separate task performed by LINES is to actively engage students in research by means of:
- engaging students to work on the laboratory’s projects as research assistants;
- providing students with courses and a research seminar led by laboratory staff;
- holding summer schools.
For more information on the Laboratory, please see The Regulations for the Laboratory.

A team of scientists, with the first author from the HSE University, were investigating which factors are the most important for the upper limb motor recovery after a stroke. The study is published in Stroke, the world's leading journal for cerebrovascular pathology.
The program of the students' conference ICare 2019 has been published!
We invite faculty members and students to participate in the Conference (working language: Russian)
