Book and Library Resources
The library at HSE Perm began forming its collections in 1998, the main one being foreign classics on economics. The library currently has around 70,000 works, including 6,000 foreign publications and 140 titles from various periodicals. In addition, the library’s collection of electronic documents, including full texts, is constantly growing.
HSE's library has one of Russia's widest collections of electronic resources, which include databases of foreign and Russian periodicals; the abstract and citation databases ISI Web of Knowledge and Scopus; publications and statistical resources from the World Bank, OECD, and the IMF; and Russian and foreign dictionaries and encyclopaedias. There is electronic access to over 170,000 books on an array of topics: from economics and finance to psychology and philosophy, and from classic reprints to the newest research. Around 80% of electronic books are in English and 20% in Russian. Students and staff of the university are able to subscribe to the archives of leading global academic journals, some even dating back to the late 19th century, as well as collections of master’s theses and PhD dissertations which were defended in Europe and North America over the last 20-30 years.
