The School of Economics and Finance was established in 2014 through a merger of the Departments of Economics Theory, Accounting and Auditing, Economic Modelling, and Financial Management. The School is headed by Tatiana Bukina.
The aim of the School is to create and develop a community of academics and professional practitioners from the fields of theoretical and applied economics, corporate finance and financial markets.

Congratulations with PhD defence!
On June 20, at Vigo University of Spain (Spain), a PhD thesis was defended by associate professor of the Department of Economics and Finance, a researcher at IDLab, academic director of the Master's program "Finance" Marina Zavertyaeva on the topic "Managerial personal traits and corporate financial policy".
The dissertation was the result of a three-year collaboration with professor Felix Iturriaga (University of Valladolid, Spain), who is one of the leading foreign professors working in the IDLab.
According to Elena Shakina, the director of the Lab, Marina prepared a brilliant presentation and did an excellent job responding to the commission's questions.
