A University Open to the City

A university is not only an educational and academic campus; it is a source of new and bright ideas, as well as projects that establish a city’s social and cultural space. The HSE holds an array of interesting events within the walls of the university that are open to anyone. The university also creates new platforms for communication, discussions and overall fun celebrations in the city. At HSE Perm, students can participate in a variety of different clubs and groups:

• Music Box, a classical music club headed by Artemy Savchenko, the Concertmaster of the Second Violins of the orchestra MusicAeterna
• Literary Lounge, a club where opinions are heard on the latest books and theatre productions
• Berkiansky Club, where problems of conservatism and modernity are discussed and where participants attend workshops hosted by Russian political scientists
• VyshKINO and KinoKlub DK, film clubs where members not only watch intellectual films, but also hold in-depth discussions on the issues addressed in the films
• HSE Perm Discussion Club, where relevant issues in economics, politics, society, and culture are discussed
• Politia, a club for discussing relevant political issues in Russia and around the world
