Course Syllabus

Abstract

The present program of educational discipline establishes requirements to educational results and learning outcomes of the student and determines the content and types of training sessions and reporting. The program is intended for the teachers conducting discipline "Management of IT-projects", educational assistants and students of a direction of preparation 38.04.05 Business informatics, studying under the educational program "Business informatics".

  • Preparation of students for organizational, managerial, analytical and other activities required in the course of project implementation, both as executors and project managers
  • Formation of theoretical knowledge, skills and practical skills to solve problems arising in IT project management
  • Development of skills and practical skills for effective management of IT projects, ensuring the achievement of project results in terms of the composition and scope of work, cost, time, quality and satisfaction of project participants

  • He knows classical concepts and management models in software project management. Able to apply tools for managing software projects.
  • Is able to assess the need for resources and plan their use in solving problems in professional activities. Is able to carry out an initial assessment of the degree of difficulty, risks, costs and to form a working schedule of the program project. Is able to use methods of project control and versions when creating software.

    Theme 1: Project and project activities Definition of project. Main differences between project and operational activities. Formal project criteria. Typification of projects depending on the degree of uniqueness of the result and process. Characteristics of project objectives. "Project Triangle" and interrelation of project elements. Matrix of project compromises. Concepts of "program" and "project portfolio". Project portfolio types. Theme 2: Project Management as a Type of Management Activities Definition of Project Management. Differences between project management and traditional management. Subjects of project management. Key stakeholders of the project. Knowledge areas in project management according to PMBoK 5 th ed.
